Acmella Oleracea, also known as Paracress, is an exotic plant. In the Indian Ocean region, it is called "Mafane." It reduces facial muscle micro-contractions, smoothes, and reduces lines and wrinkles, producing a Botox-like effect.

In Brazil, Acmella Oleracea is called Jambu. It's native species from Brazilian forests, with proven anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and anesthetic effects. Jambu's depigmented extract also increases collagen synthesis and epidermal thickening.

Spilanthes acmella plant extract offers critical benefits for anti-age applications. It exhibits potent activity to stimulate, reorganize, and strengthen the collagen network. Alkylamides have been identified as the active component of this extract and reveal a high ability to facilitate the interactions between collagen fibers and fibroblasts. In addition, these alkylamides reinforce the characteristics of the young dermis and improve its supporting capacity to protect against loss of firmness.

In vitro studies on three-dimensional collagen and lattices demonstrate the prominent firming properties of this ingredient. Compared to TGF-beta, this plant extract shows an explicit action on strengthening the dermis. In vivo substantiation on crow's feet confirms the robust smoothing efficacy and ultra-rapid anti-aging action. Tested versus placebo for one month on two panels of 28 volunteers aged 45 to 65, it exhibits a significant anti-wrinkle activity the very next day following the first application.
