Aesculin (Eculin)

Aesculin also called Eculin is a glucoside found in Horse Chestnut a fruit of the Aesculus hippocastanum tree. Eculin used in homeopathic medicine as a vein permeability reducing and decongesting cure for Varicose veins and Haemorrhoids reducing the pain and appearance.

In the skincare industry Aesculin used in formulations for eye and foot care to treat under-eye bags and spider veins. It tones vessels, increases skin micro-circulation, and decongest the micro-vein network decreasing dark rings and bags under the eyes.

Normal dermal microbiota is able to hydrolyze esculin into esculetin that has antifungal activity and useful against superficial mycoses of skin, hair, and nails (affected 20-25% of the world's population).

Aesculin also has anti-inflammatory, anti‑allergy, and skin protective (antioxidant) effects.
