Evening Primrose (Oenothera Biennis) Oil

Oenothera biennis - Evening Primrose
Active Ingredients:

Evening Primrose, also called Oenothera biennis, is a biennial plant with yellow flowers, native to the Americas but now widespread worldwide. Native Americans used it to soothe skin inflammations and to heal bruises and minor wounds. It had been considered as a panacea in the middle age in Europe for its effect in diverse aspects.

In the 1930s, the effects of EPO were revealed scientifically, and the British government has chosen it as a national healthcare medicine. Now it is widely used as a therapeutic for atopic dermatitis and breast pain.

Oenothera biennis oil is obtained from the seeds by cold expression or extraction. This valuable oil is used for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, eczema, and rheumatoid arthritis. Evening Primrose oil also is used for several women's conditions, such as mastalgia (pain in the breast), menopausal and postmenstrual syndromes, Raynaud's phenomenon of the nipple in nursing mothers, etc.

Rich in omega-6 fatty acids, including linoleic acid (67.5%) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA; 7.5%), Oenothera biennis seeds oil is an excellent antioxidant and potent moisturizer. High contents of GLA soothe various dermal conditions, including dermatitis caused by lack of enzyme responsible for the conversion of linoleic acid to gamma-linolenic acid.

Anti-aging, moisturizing, rejuvenating, readily absorbed, and revitalizes the appearance of the skin. Smooth the irritation of dry skin. It softens lines and is an excellent choice for dry, damaged, and mature skin.
