Hydrolyzed Collagen

Collagen is the primary structural protein of skin tissue. As materials closely akin to skin, hydrolyzed collagen proteins are natural skin compatible and have, historically, been considered the preferred choice for skin conditioning.

The use of hydrolyzed collagen is not restricted to skincare alone, for experience has shown that these proteins are, in fact, substantive to hair as well. As a result, it can improve both hair manageability and skin smoothness. In addition, hydrolyzed collagen has unique water-binding and texturizing properties, which enable it to bind to the water held by the hair shaft. This behavior substantially increases the hair's capacity for water retention, the effects of which give hair more flexibility, better body, and improved manageability.

Because the product appears to lessen the stripping effects some surfactants cause, Hydrolyzed Collagen can help reduce the subsequent defatting that may occur. As a result, it is highly recommended for shampoos, facial cleansers, body shampoos, and other surfactant systems, including detergent preparations like dishwashing liquids. It may also be used as conditioners in cream rinses and hair-setting lotions.
