Safety Information
For external use only. Verde Erba I sits in an alcohol base: hold the bottle a hand’s width from the skin, aim at the wrists and the base of the neck, and never towards the face. If the mist catches the eyes, rinse them with clean water. Skin that reacts easily to perfume should take one spray on the inner arm and wait a day before wearing it more widely, and you should stop using it if the skin turns red or itchy. Stand the bottle upright somewhere cool and shaded — warmth and daylight dull a green opening like this one long before the vanilla base gives way — and keep it away from open flame and out of reach of children.
Not recommended for:
- Spraying at the face, or onto skin that is broken, freshly shaved or already irritated.
- Bare shoulders and forearms on a bright day; wear it under clothing rather than on skin heading into strong sun.
- Pale linen, silk and pearls — let it dry on the skin before you dress.
- Anyone sensitive to hydroxycitronellal, cinnamyl alcohol, farnesol or hexyl cinnamal, all named on the current pack.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it smell like?
Valmont places it in the floral green family: a spring bouquet of zesty, slightly aniseed syringa over the woody green of papyrus, softened by sweet vanilla.
How long does it last and how far does it travel?
Valmont describes it as delicate, fresh, vibrant and balanced rather than loud. It is still an extrait de parfum, the most concentrated form, so a light spray on the wrists and neck holds through the day.
Who does it suit?
Anyone who prefers green, airy perfumes with a quiet sweet finish to heavy oriental or gourmand ones. It is the easiest of the Storie Veneziane compositions to wear in daylight and in warm weather.
How does it differ from Laguna Verde I?
The two share papyrus and a green character. Laguna Verde I is drier and more powdery, opening on violet leaf over an iris heart. Verde Erba I is lighter and softer, with syringa in place of iris and vanilla rounding the base.
What is the bottle like?
It is a Storie Veneziane bottle, dressed with a hand-blown Murano glass mask, made to be displayed rather than shut away.
