Safety Information
For external use only. This is the stronger of the two Renewal Retinol concentrations. Retinol makes skin more sensitive to sunlight, so apply a broad spectrum sunscreen every morning for as long as you use it. Even if you have used retinol before, restart gradually at two or three evenings a week, and do not layer it with another retinoid or a strong exfoliating acid until your skin is used to it. Avoid direct contact with the eyes and rinse thoroughly with water if the product gets into them. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Replace the cap after use, keep away from direct sunlight, and store out of reach of children.
Not recommended for:
- Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, unless a doctor has said it is suitable.
- Anyone new to retinol — begin with the .25 strength instead.
- The same evening as another retinoid or a strong acid product, at least until skin is fully accustomed.
- Broken, irritated or sunburned skin, and the eye contour and lips.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from Renewal Retinol .25?
Same encapsulated formula, twice the retinol concentration. The .5 is for people whose skin is already comfortable with nightly retinol; if that is not you yet, start with Renewal Retinol .25.
I already use a retinol. Can I go straight to nightly?
Better not. Retinols differ in delivery as well as strength, so give this one two or three evenings a week for a few weeks before building up.
Where does it sit in my routine?
Evenings only. Cleanse, apply any hydrating serum, then one pump of the retinol, then moisturizer. Every morning, finish with a broad spectrum sunscreen.
Can I use it with a peptide serum?

What if my skin feels dry on it?
