Professional Recommendation
This is the version to reach for when you want sun protection to do a second job. The iron oxides give a sheer, single-shade tint that softens the look of redness and uneven tone, so many guests wear it instead of foundation on quiet days. Against the untinted UV Clear SPF 46 the formula is identical apart from that pigment; against UV Daily Tinted SPF 40 it stays oil-free and leans on 5% niacinamide rather than a moisturising base, which is why it suits oilier and breakout-prone skin better.
Because there is only one shade, blending matters more than quantity per pump. Take a generous amount, dot it across the face and work it out towards the hairline, ears and jaw so no line of demarcation is left — and remember the neck, which shows a mismatch first. Warming the product briefly between the fingers helps it melt into deeper skin tones. If you wear foundation over the top, let the tint set for a minute first, and shake or prime the airless pump before the first use of a new bottle so the pigment comes through evenly.
Safety Information
For external use only. Apply generously 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply at least every two hours, and always after swimming, towel drying or sweating. Sunscreen is one layer of protection among several — shade, a wide-brimmed hat and covering clothing do the rest, and none of them replaces the others. Keep the product out of the eyes; if it does get in, rinse thoroughly with water. Discontinue use if irritation or a rash develops and persists.
Not recommended for:
- Children under 6 months of age.
- Broken, bleeding or freshly wounded skin.
- Anyone with a known sensitivity to zinc oxide, octinoxate, niacinamide or iron oxides.
- Use inside the eye area, on the lips or on the inner nose.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the untinted UV Clear?
It is the same SPF 46 formula — same zinc oxide, same 5% niacinamide, same oil-free, non-comedogenic base — with iron oxides added for a sheer tint. Nothing else changes. If you would rather have no colour at all, choose UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46.
There is only one shade — will it match me?
The tint is sheer rather than a full-coverage shade, and it is designed to read across light through medium-deep tones. It suits most people once it is blended out properly. On very fair or very deep skin, apply a thinner layer and blend towards the edges of the face.
Does it replace foundation?
For many guests it does on everyday wear, since it evens the look of the complexion on its own. It also sits well under foundation when you want more coverage — just let it set for a minute first.
Is it a better choice than UV Daily Tinted for my skin?
Choose this one if your skin is oily, combination or breaks out easily; the base is oil-free and carries 5% niacinamide. Choose UV Daily Tinted SPF 40 if your skin runs normal to dry and you want the more moisturising hyaluronic acid base.
How do I reapply without disturbing my makeup?
Reapplication is still needed at least every two hours outdoors and after swimming, towel drying or sweating. Over makeup, a mist such as UV AOX Mist SPF 40 is easier to layer than a lotion. If you are unsure how to build the routine around treatments, book an online skincare consultation.
