Professional Recommendation
Reach for the Green Tint version when visible redness — across the cheeks, around the nose, or lingering after a treatment — is the thing you notice first in the mirror. Underneath the pigment it is exactly the untinted Skin Recovery formula: 100% mineral, zinc oxide only, with the same AA Complex, ceramides and centella. The difference is purely optical. Green sits opposite red on the color wheel, so as the tint blends out it cancels the appearance of redness rather than covering it the way a concealer would. Against the rest of the line, UV Clear Tinted SPF 46 suits blemish-prone skin and Hydration+ Tinted SPF 50 gives a beige skin-tone tint; only this one corrects for red.
Apply a full, even layer as the last step of the morning and let it do the correcting before you decide on base makeup — most people need far less concealer afterwards. The tint looks green in the pump and on the back of the hand; that is expected, and it neutralizes as you blend, so keep working it out until the green disappears. Press rather than rub on reactive areas. After a salon facial, dermaplaning or a VI Peel, wait for the go-ahead from the professional who treated you before adding it back to the routine.
Safety Information
Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply at least every two hours, and again after swimming, toweling off or heavy sweating. Sun protection works alongside shade, a wide-brimmed hat and covering clothing, not instead of them, so keep time in the midday sun limited as well. For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes; if the product gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
Not recommended for:
- Children under 6 months of age.
- Broken, freshly wounded or bleeding skin.
- Anyone with a known sensitivity to zinc oxide, iron oxides or any other listed ingredient.
- Use straight after an in-studio treatment, before the professional who treated you has cleared it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the untinted UV Skin Recovery SPF 50?
The formula is the same — same 12.9% zinc oxide, same AA Complex, same ceramides and centella, same SPF 50. This version adds green color-correcting pigment, which visually cancels the look of redness as it blends. If you have no redness to correct, or you prefer a colorless finish under your own base, take the untinted version instead.
It comes out green — will it stay green on my face?
No. The pigment is sheer and is meant to be blended until the green tone disappears; what remains is a more even-looking complexion. If a green cast is still visible, you have used more than you need in one spot — spread it further rather than adding another product on top.
When can I go back to sunscreen after a salon treatment?
It depends on the treatment and on how your skin responded, so the timing comes from the professional who performed it, not from a general rule — a HydraFacial and a VI Peel follow different schedules. Once you have been cleared, this is an easy formula to return to, and the green tint helps with the flushed look that often lingers for a few days.
Can I wear makeup over it?
Yes. Let it set for a minute, then press base products on instead of buffing them in. Many people find they need less coverage once the redness has been optically evened out, so try a lighter base than usual first.
Does it work on darker skin tones?
The pigment is sheer and there is no beige tone to mismatch, so it blends without leaving a shade line. It is aimed at correcting red, though — if what you want is an even skin-tone tint, UV Daily Hydration+ Tinted SPF 50 is the better fit.
