Made for men and women, Blu Cobalto I captivates with a generosity of depth and longevity of wake. Like an aromatic symphony, a perfume is composed of different harmonizing notes.

Safety Information
For external use only. This is an alcohol-based extrait with a long wake, so a single spray at each wrist from a hand’s width is usually the whole application. Direct it away from the face and rinse the eyes with clean water on accidental contact. If perfume tends to upset your skin, wear one spray on the inner arm for a day before committing, and stop using it if the skin turns red or itchy. Resins and patchouli are sensitive to warmth: keep the bottle upright in a cool, dark place, away from open flame, and out of reach of children.
Not recommended for:
- The face and the eye area, and any skin that is broken, freshly shaved or waxed.
- Knitwear, scarves and coat collars — a patchouli and opoponax base clings to wool and can outlast several wears; pearls and silk are best kept clear too.
- Bare skin going straight into strong sunlight.
- Anyone sensitive to coumarin, benzyl salicylate, hexyl cinnamal or limonene, which the current pack names.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it smell like?
Valmont places it in the oriental gourmand family: deep, earthy patchouli giving way to the chocolate delicacy of cocoa and the sweet, resinous warmth of opoponax.
How long does it last and how far does it travel?
Valmont describes a generosity of depth and a longevity of wake. As an extrait de parfum it is the most concentrated form, so one or two sprays on the wrists and neck carry through the day.
Who does it suit?
Valmont states it is made for men and women. It suits anyone who likes warm, sweet and resinous scents, and it reads most naturally in the evening and in cooler weather.
How does it differ from Rosso I?
Rosso I is the floral oriental of the pair, built on damask rose, pink berries and oud. Blu Cobalto I has no rose at its centre; it is the gourmand, led by cocoa and opoponax over earthy patchouli.
What is the bottle like?
The name is the bottle. Blu Cobalto takes its cobalt blue from the Murano glassmaking tradition, and the mask that tops the 100 ml flacon carries that colour. Each mask is blown by hand, so hold the flacon by the body rather than the mask when you spray.
Pairs Well With
- Valmont Rosso I: the floral oriental of the collection, rosier and more spiced.
- Valmont Verde Erba I: the fresh, green Storie Veneziane for daytime and warmer months.
- Valmont Alessandrite I: a luminous aldehydic floral, for a complete contrast to this one.
